Recording & Mixing

Clients that have started a production at home or another studio often ask – “How can I bring my project to ADRS”? The most efficient way to transfer digital files between recording platforms is via the Broadcast Wav Files (BWF) format. The BWF file format allows for an extra file extension of metadata, allowing audio processing elements to identify themselves, document their activities and permit time / session placement synchronization with other recordings. This metadata is stored as an extension chunk in an otherwise standard digital audio WAV file. BWF is now the audio format of choice between motion picture, recording studios and television production. You are welcome to bring your files to us on either a standard ISO 9660 DVDr or an external hard drive (USB2 is preferrable).
Checkout our Mixing Services & Session Delivery Guidelines & File Consolidation Guidelines for step-by-step instructions to properly export sessions from major DAW’s (currently including Pro Tools, FL Studio, Logic, Sonar, Reaper, Cubase/Nuendo, Garage Band, Reason & Audacity).

We have a sort of “hybrid” approach to recording & mixing sound at ADRS. By “hybrid”, I mean that we utilize both a DAW & an awesome selection of outboard gear. This approach allows us to get the absolute best results for your project. View our complete equipment list.
